MINT is pleased to present Interrupted, our 5th Annual Juried Exhibition, at
our new temporary space MINT @ 92 Peachtree. MINT is thrilled to open our short-term home with this exhibition featuring some of the most promising emerging artists in the U.S.
Juror Jiha Moon says, “The exhibition will include paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installation, mixed media, conceptual based, craft, print, and video works. Two interesting and noticeable tendencies in the chosen works are shifting the perspective of female gaze, and material fusion. There are a number of artists dealing with the female figure in non-traditional ways, or perhaps, playing ironically against traditional ideas. Women are active with their voices and telling their stories rather than being subjugated. Multiple prints morph into video work and political documents, and gestures become wearable accessories. A furry and friendly toy evolves into a gigantic moving sculpture, unfired clay and paper becomes an installation, and food coloring modifies photo surfaces. Materials are often used in such a way that they interrupt artistic genres in non-traditional manner, which can appear confusing or dismissive at first, but ultimately enhance the diversity, unity and complex beauty of all of the art.”
Featured artists are: Max Adrian, Dylan Dewitt, Arron Foster, Stephanie Galli, June Glasson, Kristy Higby, Maria Korol, Yehrim Lee, Joshua Littlefield, Nancy Meyer, Aaron Putt, Courtney Ryan, and Jaeyoun Shin.
Interrupted will open Saturday, March 31st, from 7 to 10PM at MINT @ 92 Peachtree St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30303. It will be on view through May 26th.
